Loved you once through Joy,
Innocence and ploys
Hopping over time,
Didn’t feel the norms
Nor aware of storms…
Climb infant, do climb
Enjoy all your toys,
‘Cause once,
I used to bear your noise.

Loved you once through smiles
Ticks from me,
And waves from miles
Didn’t sense moments
Numb to opponents…
Fly little one, do fly
Enjoy all your styles,
‘Cause once
I was familiar with your aisles.

Loved you once through tears,
Ache and peers,
Crafting shades over years,
Didn’t consider tomorrow
Indeed, I had to borrow…
Fear child, do fear
Reconcile your cheers,
‘Cause once
I hardened to be near.

Loved you once through passion
Naked thoughts and compassion
Paddling fine with the curves
Didn’t reflect on deepness
Nor did I play chess…
Pound my heart, do pound
Take note of all your beats
‘Cause once
I yearned to expire beneath your breath.
