W.A.R

W.A.R

Flames showering the pregnant

Earth; the baby squirrels

And the homeless mind

unite as terrorized; and including

the shattered pieces

Of my water jar…

W.A.R

W.A.R

When need is exchanged for

desire,

When the human stain is

Casted away in a lake of fire;

War invites panic,

and throws reason very far.

W.A.R

W.A.R

When I have the right

And you don’t;

When you talk and I’m deaf;

When scriptures are melted

With shots from the Sam’s bar

W.A.R

W.A.R

When all options expire;

When greed eats the fences

Of the human borders,

I bite my fingers,

Drop a single tear

Then crawl leaving out

Leaving out my car

W.A.R

W.A.R

When a drop of oil

Is more precious than a cry of a mother;

When I try to question

My flesh and apply for a free heart

Free, yes, free from this rough scar

It’s the impact

Of the W.A.R

In our distance it's hard to know what war is. Starvation, too.
